I wish I could show you guys what my wife got me for an early dads day gift. She and I cant figure out how to post photos yet so she e-mailed a photo to a friend and he posted it on Team Chevelle for us. But anyway it is a 1955 Texaco gas pump thats been completely restored .Its really cool and Ive always wanted one but wasnt willing to pay what they are worth. She got it at an estate sale we went to Saturday .I would not buy it for myself so she decided to get it for me. If anyone volunteers an e-mail address and will post it I will get her to send it.Waving

John, sent you a pm with my email address. When you post a reply or new thread scroll down below the message area. There's a button 'Manage Attachments'. Click on that then browse to the photo, wherever you have it on your pc, then click the button to upload. You may need to make the picture smaller first. 720 or 640 width is usually pretty good size. If you don't make them smaller they won't fit on the page, plus it wastes a lot of grumpy's storage space.

Robert ,Ill let you know how much after you get to see it .I think it was a bargain .

Hank, Thanks for the help .I will get my wife to send you the photo and then we will try to post again. If you dont mind posting this one for me until we learn. We are not tech saavy yet.

You don't have to be tech savvy, just find a good friend like Hank who will walk you thru it.

I promised to tell you what she paid for it ,so first Im going to tell you what they normally sell for ($2850) . My wife walked up when we first saw it and asked how much and was told $1500 .We decided to go from the main house to the guest house and see what was for sale there and she told me she was going to buy it for me.I told her I hoped someone else bought it before we got back up there but as we walked back up the lady was marking the price down to $1000 and she told her she would take it. So I think she got a bargain and I love it.It is too nice to go in my shop so we put it in our computer room so I can see it constantly while Im online. My wife is the greatest ,she puts up with me and buys me cool gifts. PS: the only kids we have besides me are our old cars .

What brand pump is that? Possibly Gilbarco? I haven't seen one before with such a large calculating face. There is a pretty strong market for pumps if they are the real deal, so strong that many reproductions are out there ... still valuable but not as much as the originals.

Very retro ... I love it! And I'm jealous now....
Ya know the biggest suppliers of vintage gas pumps and supplies are in Ore-gun and Washington .... take your first-borne! LOL

It will be a few years before the kids move out, and I am sure if we had any room, for anything, you would find something to fill it with.

I remember when I got my first Nova in 1978 the price of a gallon of gas was 50 cents. I miss the old days (1970's) and sometimes I even miss my 72 Nova...

I used to get premium for my '63 Impala SS at a Stop-In-Go in Mtlk Terrace, WA for 19.9 cents a gallon! When was the last time you filled up your tank for less than 5 bucks? :(
