Does anybody have the hole placement measurements for the 72 Chevelle by Chevrolet trunk lid emblem?

Also, what holds the emblem on? Some sort of adhesive? Some kind of clip?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Pretty sure the emblem is held on with barrell nuts. Not sure of the placement as our car is in the shop.

The 70 emblem has a couple of barrel nuts and a couple of pins with a spring type clip on it. The 70 emblem is different so I suspect the holes are in a different location as well.

Happen to have any pics or links to pics of the nut or the clip? I bought the part from the parts place, the pins on the back don't seem to have any threads?

I might have an extra emblem with the clips on it, have to dig it out. The nuts are emblem nuts, just a a thing piece of steel stamped into the shape of a nut, hollow on one side. No threads on the pins, the nut will cut it's own thread.

I did a search on the web for "emblem nuts" and didn't have much luck. Do you know where I would look to find these?

I installed the trunk emblem as directed by the assembly manual and messed it all up! Those vague drawings in the manual couldn’t have been more wrong- it advised 00.55 inches from the right side of the trunk deck so I drilled the holes and when I went to install my badge, the mounting pegs were hitting the back side of the trunk.

It comes out to 1.25 – 1.26” now and I think the holes are 3/16" in diameter. Make sure you lay them all out and compare them to your emblem before drilling any holes.

Not sure this reference will help guide you to finding your style, but see wassup buddy and let me know if you need further help – http://www.restorationperformance.com/servlet/the-ALL/keyword/72-chevelle-emb/searchpath/157249/start/1/total/28/Categories
