View Full Version : Wiring routing pictures?

I set the motor back in so I could run the wiring for the starter, alternator, distributor and other things associated with the battery. I'm starting to realize I don't have any grounding straps or clips to hold the wires in place. For now I am just routing the wires and then once I can confirm everything works I will wrap them and clip them in place.

I have the wiring diagram and assembly manual and have gone back through some of the pictures people have posted but it would be helpful if I had pictures of how the wires are actually routed around the engine. Don't want things to get to hot. I'm specifically looking for the wires going to the alternator, distributor and starter. Thanks in advance for any help.

This may help, you can see the alternator wiring in this picture. It drops out of the wiring gutter on the firewall and runs along the valve cover.

That does help, thanks. Do you know what the route is for the wire from the starter to the alternator? If I have that path I think I can get the lengths right for everything.

I'll try to get you picture or two during the week. I am not near the car now.

I appreciate the help. I routed them where I think they will go temporarily so I can get everything run. I think I have an idea of where they go but want to get it right. I'm waiting until I can verify that everything works before I wrap all the wires. In the meantime I zip tied everything in place.

Not to steal your thread pauly but I actually need some wiring help also. Does anyone have any pictures of how or where the wiring for parking lights in the bumper and fender pass through the inner fenders at on a 70?
