I might be trading in my Chevelle. When I got the bug to get an old school car last spring I couldn't find a Camaro that satisfied my anal personality within a resonable budget. So I waited until the end of summer and still couldn't find the right one for me, so I bought the Chevelle. I really like the Chevelle, but I really wanted, and still do want, a 67-69 Camaro.

I found a really sweet 1967 Camaro with a 327, automatic that is in awesome condition that fits my budget. I'm going to check it out today and if I like, I'll be trading in the Chevelle.

One other thing is, the Chevelle needs a few spots fixed on her and it's going to cost alot more than I thought it would to get them fixed. It goes back to that whole anal, perfectionist personality I have.

I'll let you know what happens.

Mike

Good Luck! No reason to keep a car that isn't what you truly want.

What needs fixed on your 70? Great looking car

I agree with Eric. If the Chevelle is not what you really want, and you have the opportunity to get what you really want. Go for it. Let us know what happens.

I hope that you know that you are still going to be welcome here, no matter what your toy is.

I don't think it's a good trade, he will be getting the better deal.

I'm not trading straight up, I'm getting more money from the Chevelle than what I'm paying for the Camaro.

I'll be sure to post up some pics of it when I get her home.

I can certainly understand trading your Chevelle for the Camaro, if that’s what you’ve really wanted, I’ve wanted a Chevelle since the late seventies. A year ago I was ready to pull the trigger on a 67 Impala , but it’s good that there was more work to do on that car than I could have done, so I passed. A year later the Chevelle I bought came along at a great price and I had the funds that I otherwise would not have had.

I take it for one reason or another, owning both is not an option. At least you’re not giving up the Chevelle for a F:butt1::butt1:d, or a M:butt1::butt1::butt1:r. :D

Good luck on your decision.

Well, I did it. On Monday I traded in the Chevelle for a 1967 Camaro. It's Marina Blue, 327, TH350, 3.73 posi and deluxe interior. I have some plans to dress it up and replace some worn out pieces but nothing radical. Probably clean the carpet and interior up too.

I would like to say thank you for the help and friendship I found here. I'll still drop in and interject my goofy humor that sometimes needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

It was a beautiful day to drive it home. Both of my boys (6 and 9) wanted to ride home in the cool car with dad and not with mom. LOL. It was nice to put it into drive and just cruise along the way. It drives/rides so nice and smooth compared to the Chevelle. Someone put a lot of work into the car and it shows/feels like it.

Here are some pictures I took at my in-laws place, she is going to stay there for the rest of the winter.

Thaks again,
Mike

Beautiful Camaro, but man, I would have a hard time giving up a big block 4 speed Chevelle for an automatic small block Camaro (although appreciate that car for everything it is).

I know it was what you were wanting all along so congratulations and hope you get to enjoy it this spring/summer!

Nice car. I can't wait to see it in person at some of the cruises this summer. I know you said you will drop into the site from time to time. I hope that you will remember that you are a part of what makes this site great and we want to hear all about your car, and it doesn't matter what kind of car it is. You are always welcome here !

Got to say, she's a nice one! Even though I'm a Chevelle guy, I could see someone selling a Chevelle for this one, especially if this is what you've alway wanted. Have fun with her!

+1 When I first started driving, I went through a few cars. 67' Chevy II, 69' SS 396 Camaro, and a 69' SS 396 Chevelle. I liked the Chevelle the best out of those three.

Looks like she is looking for a new home. Pretty steep asking price.

I think the only cars they really give a good report to are national award winners priced at half of market value.

Hey Mike,
Beautiful 67 Camaro!
Since you have a Camaro, here's a cool show you might be interested in right here in Mi. Bowtie smiley I'll be attending the show with my Camaro.

Way too many purists over there..
Yes the price is pretty high, but that's just dealer mark up.
That's one good lookin Chevelle, and the Camaro is bad a$$ too.
