Under the hood does not look very original now but in the spring after the frame on retsoration it will look a lot better. Started to strip the car to bare metal today.

First engine pic is when I first bought it, second is after rebuild. I should have made the engine more correct looking when I had it out of the car but oh well, I will do it again. Right now currently it has msd ignition and a new master cyllinder but I dont have any pics yet.

This is what I walked into today. My buddie stripped the whole car down yesterday. Very little rust, just in hidden places, none showing. Straight as can be.

Great pictures, some reason they stay small when you click on them. Looks like you are moving ahead with your project.

Yeah when I sent them from my iPhone to my email I sent them to be shrunk because I usually send them as actual size and they are huge. I guess not on this site, lesson learned.

Heres a lil update, a pic from 2 weeks ago. It's all sanded except for the sides. Going to check it out tommorow to see the progress.

Did you find any unexpected surprises when it was all stripped down ,I hope not . Are you going back same color as before?

No not really but I just talked to my buddy today and he said he had the whole thing sanded and ready for primer. He said there was a little bit of bondo in the passenger rear quarter but not bad at all. Other than that it looks all good. Very straight, and yes I'm going to paint it the original Cortez silver.

Here's a lil update. They weren't at the shop today but I found it outside all primed. I think the circles are where he's gonna do some more bodywork. Hope he's done soon because I want to have it all show ready before May. Think it's possible?

Yeah I still am. Actually even earlier, I wanted to have it ready for may 20th because my town is having there own car show. The painter is just about done with all the bodywork. He also doesn't work full time on it, only nights and weekends when he doesnt have any collision work. I'm just hoping there's no accidents around here for the next few weeks.
