There should be a cardboard divider instead of what you have there, looks to be metal. It hangs on the metal divider where the seat back hooks. You can the see the cardboard through the holes in the metal. If you want one you can get the divider from just about any of the suppliers.

In the post linked below you can see where the wiring comes into the trunk.

Sorry, forgot you have a 69, not a 70. Maybe someone else with a 69 can shoot some pics for you.

68 to 72 use the same trunk divider, your does not look correct. The wiring harness should run along the bottom of the floor pan and have clips that hold it in place as it comes up the floor pan to the trunk.

Looks like someone replaced or covered the metal divider. It's definitely not solid, should like similar to mine. Also on the inside, the screws or rivets aren't a factory thing.

This is what the inside of my trunk looks like looking forward. Just not sure how strong it is if they cut out the original metal from the pictures. Otherwise the only time you will know something is different is only when the trunk is open, you will never know from inside the car.

do any of those holes have anything to do with putting the rear seat in?

No, but you are missing the hooks that should be at the top inside of the car that holds the rear upper seat in place in your photo.

Looking for a picture, but the hooks are in this on the left and right side of the panel. The top half of the seat has two hook on them to keep it from falling down. I will gp throuhg my pictures and see if I can find a better picture.

If you look at these pictures you will see a hook sticking out from the rear panel the seat hooks on. There are 3 total, one on each side and one in the middle.
