1970 Chevrolet Malibu
1970 Malibu Convertible
In 1970, Chevrolet introduced the ultimate powerhouse for it's mid-sized line-up. Chevelle enthusiasts were greeted by the LS-6 with the fearless 454 V8. The 454 had a factory rating of 450 hp. Few other muscle cars could rival the power of this super sport optioned model. The LS-6 454 included high compression pistons, rectangle port cylinder heads, and solid valve lifters, teamed up with dual exhaust and a cowl induction hood. While performance was important, so was looks and 1970 SS optioned Chevelles were available with twin stripes running over the hood and rear deck lid. Magnum 500 steel wheels were used on all SS option models as well as heavier suspension. The 1970 Chevelle LS 454 remains one of the highest collected muscle cars of all time.
